“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silent.” ~ Vincent Van Gogh

Hello and welcome!
My name is Don McNevin.
I am an artist living in Midland Ontario, on the shores of beautiful Georgian Bay.
Originally from Prince Edward Island,I moved to Ontario to attend the Ambulance and Emergency Care Program at Humber College. On graduation l was offered a position in Brampton. It was during this time my brother (A medic working at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie) informed me of an open position in Midland. It was and is such a good fit!
I have always painted a wide range of subjects. It can be sports, musicians, portraits or whatever catches my eye. Depending on what it is I am painting, my process is simple. I make a play list, put head phones on, a cup of tea and I am good to go.
Influences are important to any artist. My sister Dale and the late Midland artist Ken Aaron are two of mine. My sister, a well-known artist on Prince Edward Island encouraged me and offered helpful suggestions in materials and their uses as well as technical skills. Ken like my sister, suggested “just relax and enjoy the process” Perhaps just as importantly listen to and take what I could from criticism.
Looking for a special piece? I am open to commissions. Please visit my contact page to discuss your commission or have questions about my process.
